Men's Services

Intensive support

In our dealings with clients, we work with the Criminals Justice System, never against it, and are committed to working in partnership with statutory and non-statutory organisations.

One to one support is provided for male offenders needing more in depth work. We rely heavily on our good working relationship with local statutory and voluntary agencies and are committed to working with them in order to improve outcomes for our service users and to keep our community’s safe.

Weekly support hub

C2C used to run a weekly support hub where trained staff and volunteers work together with specialist agencies providing support in a number of areas including; planning for the future, budgeting, health and wellbeing, benefit advice, personal counselling, drugs and alcohol support, handling debt. The hub was a safe male only environment. We would like to re-start this. Can you help?

CASE STUDY

Thank you for inviting me to write a review on my experiences of being helped by C2C. I have written a review that I hope can be taken as a whole or be cherry-picked for soundbites. I am happy for C2C to use this review as a whole or in parts as long as the parts are used in the spirit they are written.

“Some people leave prison and they are able to pick up their lives and carry on… many can’t. Hearing the weighty doors of Justice close behind you on the way out can feel like freedom or it can place you in world where you feel alien, disconnected and isolated.

C2C accept referrals from various agencies that place them into the lives of people leaving the prison system. From the moment C2C are on your case you have the opportunity to work with a holistic and caring Charity.

I guess my very first impression of C2C was the feeling of recognition, without any prejudice. The second impression was that of dealing with a caring individual… not living with the expectations of an organisation. Faceless organisations and bureaucracies can be very intimidating but with C2C, you meet your Support Worker and rarely, beyond that introduction, do you meet the faces behind your Support Worker.

One of my joys of being supported by C2C is the indirect feeling of family that is there if you look. My particular Support Worker, although they try to avoid it, will take calls from fellow clients. The calls come from people you will never meet and never know but feeling part of a greater community, even indirectly, is wonderful.

C2C look at your individual needs in the now, the near future and the longer-term future. Then, if you are motivated to make a difference to your own life, they will help you, empower and guide you towards your achievable goals.
