Responsible for: Supporting women by leading sewing lessons, aiming to help divert them from the criminal justice system and encourage them to fulfil their potential.

Have the ability to encourage service users, whilst being compassionate, non-judgemental, inclusive and understanding.

Deliver high quality support to female service users, over the age of 18 with varying support needs including a risk of offending, mental health, substance misuse history and homelessness, with the overall aim of working as part of a team to enable them to take control of their lives and take steps into stable accommodation, work or training, positive relationships and engage with a variety of additional services.

Plan sewing projects suitable for beginners, to increase their knowledge and be able to complete a piece of work in one session

Prepare the lesson, buy the materials and prepare them; maintain the equipment

Plan the sewing sessions, booking the rooms, arranging suitable staff and volunteer presence

Deliver sewing sessions for women at times suitable to them, leading the training both on line and face to face

Ensure appropriate support is given to women with additional needs

Ensure sewing standards meet those expected for the items to be sold to raise funds for C2C

Gather stock suitable for sale and seek opportunities for sales such as craft fairs

Engage suitable service users to volunteer to help with the sales, to further extend their training and work experience

Ensure full records of costs and expenses are maintained and maintain regular contact with the C2C CEO responsible for the budget

Liaise with relevant professionals, agencies and individuals on behalf of service users, as required, and especially if there are any safeguarding concerns

Assist the service user to engage with relevant professionals if required

Ensure feedback and outcomes are monitored and recorded

Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and practices of the organisation and that all necessary records and paperwork are complete and up-to-date

Provide cover for services as appropriate and requested by Manager
This post is based in Kettering and Northampton, and is for various hours a week, subject to funding. Some evening & weekend work will be required and a full driving license and access to transport is desirable
